ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges has directed the Sindh inspector general police (IGP) to provide the detail of security personnel deputed with the parliamentarians (MPs) and the others along with their duration of posting.
The committee meeting was held on Thursday at the Parliament House under the chairmanship of MNA Junaid Anwar Chaudhry.
The meeting was attended by many members of National Assembly, including Mahmood Bashir Virk, Rana Umer Nazir Khan, Ch Bilal Ahmed Virk, Arshad Khan Leghari, Abdul Majid Khan Khanankhail, Sheikh Muhammad Akram, Mumtaz Ahmed Tarar, Kiran Haider, SA Iqbal Quadra, Muhammad Ali Rashid and Asiya Nasir.
The committee pended the amendments moved by MNA Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, in rule 122 and 244 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007.
The committee disposed of the issue related to non-action on the letter of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Ministry Secretary Khizar Hayat Khan and Workers Welfare Fund Secretary Qasim Khan regarding irregular appointments, promotions and absorption of General Education and Welfare Director Abdul Hameed Jumani, Workers Welfare Fund Director Nauman Shah, and Workers Welfare Fund Assistant Director Zubair Malik.
