ISLAMABAD:  The special bench of the Supreme Court directed that the Panama case Joint Investigation Team (JIT) responsible for investigating the Sharif family’s financial assets will have to submit its final report on July 10.

This was stated following JIT’s  submission of its third and second-last progress report to the apex court today.

The JIT constituted on May 6 in light of the Supreme Court’s April 20 judgment in the Panama case, will submit its report to the court’s special bench formed to oversee the verdict’s implementation.

On June 7, the JIT had presented its midterm report to the special bench, headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and comprising Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh.

The bench had shown contentment over JIT’s performance in the probe and had asserted that the investigation process must be completed within the allotted 60-day period.
