An accountability court on Monday extended the physical remand of Shaukat Ali, Muhammad Ali, Shoaib Sardar, Kashif Iqbal, Imran Shah, Sajawal Ashraf and Gulfam Rasool Khan, nominated in a case of illegal withdrawal of money under various adjustments headed by officials of district police and patrolling police in the Punjab Accountant General Office.
The accused Muhammad Ahmed, Ghulam Rasool Khan, Muhammad Shakeel and Muhammad Waseem were ordinary citizens but shown as sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspectors and officials of highway patrolling police respectively. Ahmed withdrew Rs 10 million, Ghulam Rasool Rs 0.5 million while Shakeel and Waseem received Rs 20 million illegally from the AG Office in their accounts during last year.
