An outlet called “Project: Rich” was launched who came up with the idea of having store for home decorations. In the launch, the small but cosy new store saw several people going up and down admiring the items which were to be sold. Reema who was invited at the launch seemed happy to see the array of several well designed products that she could not take her eyes away from.
Speaking to Pakistan Today, Reema said, “This is one of the most exclusive stores but at the same time, they seem to be aiming for everyone. If someone wants to have something exclusive for their house, they can pick something up from here and their drawing room or living room will be complete.” She said one does not find things like these in ordinary places.
In fact Project: Rich does try to have an edge over their products and there are two things that need to be noted here. One is that some of the best cushions and lamps are their own designs, with very original styles and a mixture of eastern and western ideas. The products are not just trendy, they are also classy for reasonable price rates. Secondly, the three business partners, who still work separately in their professional jobs decided to use local labour instead of foriegn labour.
“You find in most stores that the labour is foreign, even if within South Asia. But no one uses our labour, who do international standard of work. So I want to encourage this trend too,” one of the partners said. There were some interesting concepts inside the store. The lamps, which are made from real wood (shisham) have been hand carved, and have been designed in the most unique ways and this is what sets them apart. Project: Rich seems like a store which will set out to do some steady business.
