QUETTA: The Balochistan government will unveil its budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2017-18 with a total outlay of Rs321.67 billion today.
As per officials in the provincial finance department, Rs80 billion has been proposed to be allocated for development while Rs38 billion each will be set aside for education and law and order departments.
The health department will receive an amount of Rs35 billion in the provincial budget.
Rs28.93bn has been allocated for education while Rs17.36bn has been reserved for health.
An amount of Rs76 billion has also been proposed under the newly created Chief Minister Divisional Development Programme.
Moreover, some 6,000 new vacancies will be created in various provincial departments during the next fiscal year.
The government has also proposed a 10% increase in the salaries of government employees as well as pensions of former employees.
Last year, the government presented a budget of Rs282.77 billion.
