BADIN: At least dozens thatched hut shops made of mud and straw were reduced to ashes when a fire broke out the other day in Zero point’s village of fishermen at the coastal belt of Sindh, about 50 km away from Badin.

The reported fire broke out due to the sparking of the generator which immediately engulfed the thatched shops in the “village of fishermen” at the suburbs of Taluka Golarchi, district Badin. Due to winds, the fire spread to more than 35 thatched shops and some other six mud houses, reducing them all to ashes and rubble within the minutes.

The Sindh Rangers were the first ones to reach the spot and start a rescue mission. The residents along with the assistance of the Rangers initiated the rescue work to save the residents from the heavy losses.
