Punjab govt presented wonderful budget for FY 17-18: Shehbaz

LAHORE: Members of the Punjab Assembly belonging to different districts of the province called on Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif at his assembly chamber on Monday.

While talking to the assembly members, the chief minister said that Punjab government has presented a wonderful budget for the financial year 2017-18 and maintained that it will ensure balanced and speedy development. He said that special attention has been focused on important sectors, including education and healthcare, provision of clean drinking water, as well as different social sectors, adding that record funds have been allocated for rural and less developed areas of the province.

Similarly, historic resources have been earmarked for improving the quality of life of the people belonging to southern Punjab. It is heartening that ratio of development funds is much more as compared with the population of southern Punjab. He told that clean drinking water programme will be initiated from all the tehsils of southern Punjab with an amount of Rs 25 billion. Similarly, work on Khanewal-Lodhran Road has been started with an amount of Rs 22 billion.

Meanwhile, Muzaffargarh-DG Khan dual carriageway will be completed this year at a cost of Rs 17 billion. The chief minister observed that implementation of the huge annual development programme amounting to Rs 635 billion will start a new era of development and prosperity.

Under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, the journey of selfless public service to the people has been furthered.

He said that destinations become easy when one moves on with honesty, passion and determination. The last four years of PML-N government is the story of these struggles.

He asked the assembly members to strive for the solution of problems of the people and told that timely completion of development projects along with proper utilisation of funds is also their responsibility.

He said that PML-N government will win the next elections because it has served the people selflessly and the agenda of public service has been furthered as a sacred mission.

The members of the assembly who called on the chief minister included Chaudhry Mohsin Ashraf, Abu Hafs M Ghausuddin, Rana Munawar Hussain, Sardar Qaiser Abbas Khan Magsi, Chaudhry Shabir Ahmed Gujjar, Pir Ghulam Farid, Ashraf Warraich, Akhtar Ali, Ahmed Khan Baloch and others.
