LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid a surprise visit to Bhikki Gas Power Plant on Sunday. Engineers and experts from General Electric and Chinese Company briefed him about the technical reasons due to which turbines were closed.
In the briefing, Shehbaz Sharif was informed that technical faults in the first plant will be fixed soon and electricity will be restored through this plant. Speaking on this occasion, the CM said that technical reasons which turned off gas turbines of Bhikhi Power Plant are being resolved on an emergency basis.
More than 300-MW electricity will be provided to the national grid through this plant. He said that steps are being taken to resolve technical errors of other gas turbines soon and due directions have been conveyed to officials of General Electric Company. Secretary Energy and Chief Executive Officer Ahad Khan Cheema also accompanied Shehbaz Sharif.
