MARDAN: A man, on Saturday, shot his brother and sister dead over a dispute on a piece of land in the Landaky area.

The officials of Hoti Police Station said that the accused identified as Abdul Jabbar along with an unknown accomplice started firing at his brother, Muhammad Tariq Khan, and sister, leaving them seriously injured.

Both victims succumbed to their injuries before the arrival of the Rescue 1122 personnel.

Jabbar who reportedly was residing in Peshawar city, had fled the scene soon after the shooting.

Locals in the concerned area said that both the brothers–the killer and victim–had been in court regarding a land dispute case for the last few years.

They said these brothers had already been in a firing at each other a few months back because of the land dispute.

Officials of Hoti Police Station had lodged an FIR on the complaint of Ameer Taimur Khan, son of victim Muhammad Tariq Khan, against the alleged killers Abdul Jabbar Khan and his unknown accomplice.

The police have launched further investigations into the case.
