The Punjab University College of Information Technology (PUCIT) held its first-ever “Job Fair 2011” at the Old Campus on Saturday.
Around 18 Information Technology (IT) organizations had set up their stalls at the career fair to inform the students about available vacancies. The companies also conducted interviews of over 300 candidates, gave written tests to 200 students and collected 150 resumes.
The students said the recent activities had resulted in placement of 40 students at various IT organisations and hoped more students would be recruited through such activities. PUCIT Principal Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar said the fair would be organised every year. The students were also provided with information about the available foreign scholarships.
