Man killed for stopping eve-teasing in Defence

Unidentified motorists clubbed a 45-year-old man to death when he stopped them from teasing a girl in the Defence A Police Station precincts on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Safdar, a resident of Dhoop Sadi Area in Kahna. Police said that the deceased was working as a servant at house of DHA resident Malik Ijaz since 20 to 25 years.
They said that on Sunday, Malik Ijaz’s son Sirbuland was going to drop her sister Kainat at her in-law’s house on his car when three men Zeeshan, Azhar and Zaighum Abbas forced him to stop his car near EE-HH Block of Defence. Police said that the three men started teasing Kainat on which Sirbuland stopped them but they started beating him on which Sirbuland informed his father Malik Ijaz.
In order to help his son and daughter, Malik Ijaz reached the scene along with Safdar and a scuffle began between the two parties. One of the three teasers brought out an iron rod from his car and smashed Safdar’s head with it due to which he died instantly. Local residents informed police, which after reaching the spot removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and arrested the killers after registering a murder case against them on complaint of Malik Ijaz.
Two unidentified men were found dead from two different areas of the city. A 35 year-old-man was found dead near Data Darbar’s Gate 5. Some passers-by spotted the body and informed police, which suspects that the man was a drug addict and died of an overdose. An 80-year-old man’s unidentified body was found from a road located near the Railway Station. Household items and clothes worth hundreds and thousands of rupees were reduced to ashes in two different fires. A fire broke out in a house in Shafiqabad area due to short circuit. Fire fighters rushed to the scene and controlled the fire after hectic efforts. A fire also broke out in a clothes shop in the Gulberg area, as a result of which clothes worth hundreds and thousands of rupees were reduced to ashes. No casualties were reported in both incidents.
