KSEW to build two patrol boats for customs

KARACHI: Pakistan Customs has entered into an agreement with Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works (KSEW) for the construction of two boats, well suited for safety patrols, policing and customs duties.

A contract in this regard was jointly signed by Customs Collector Dr Saifuddin Junejo and KSEW Managing Director Rear Admiral Hasan Nasir Shah in Karachi on Wednesday.

As per the agreement, the modern high-speed vessels, with an improved design, will be built underclass regulations.

Each of the two 16 meters long boats fitted with marine diesel engines and Rolls Royce water jets, would be capable of achieving maximum speed of 33 knots.

The two patrol boats would have a maximum endurance of 400 nautical miles.
