The Bank of Punjab (BOP) has recently got permission from the Banking Policy and Regulations Department of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to open 11 branches in new locations across Pakistan in 2011. Though the bank has been submitting a yearly request to SBP apart from 2007, when it was issued five new licenses, requests to open new branches have been declined by SBP. The BOP has expressed its positive intent towards the improvement and betterment of the bank in qualitative terms.
BOP has a strong network of 273 branches across Pakistan, equipped with modern banking facilities and advanced infrastructure. This year, apart from opening new branches, BOP is continuing the renovation of many branches in both rural and urban areas.
