Dry, hot weather expected in Lahore

Lahore will continue to experience dry, very hot weather on Friday, according to Met office.

The city received some rain in several areas but it didn’t have any effect on the heat. A shallow westerly wind is still affecting Kashmir and its adjoining areas. They predicted that mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while very hot weather in central and southern areas. However, rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Kashmir and its adjoining areas.

On Thursday, rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds occurred at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Bahawalpur, Malakand, Peshawar divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

Thursday’s maximum temperature was recorded at Sibbi where mercury reached 50°C while in Lahore, it was 38°C, minimum was 23.5°C and humidity was 24 percent.

Met officials said Thursday’s record temperature of 48°C observed in Pasni and 47°C in Ormara while earlier recorded in Pasni was 47°C and Ormara was 44.1°C on 19th May, 2002 each.
