Ropeways transport system to be introduced in Lahore

Chief Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif has said that ropeways transport system will be introduced in Lahore.

He has directed for feasibility reports to be prepared for ropeways transport at three points in the city i.e. from Imamia Colony to Railway Station, Jehangir Tomb to Greater Iqbal Park, from Jalo Mor to Thokar Niaz Baig and and one from Islamabad to Murree.

According to the details, this decision was made in a meeting presided by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.  He also said that the programme has been finalised with the foreign company that will be working with the Punjab government on this project.

Provincial ministers Ch Sher Ali, Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, secretaries transport, enviroment, MD Punjab mass transit authority, Commissioner Lahore Division Abdullah Sumbal were present in the session.

Nodoubt this project is healthy as way of entertainment for masses rather than a need.As already alternate projects like metro and other means of transport are catering well need of commuting.Rather there is dyre need for educational nd unemployment projects for nation and to combat inflation and to have projects like Uber and Carre.this project sorry t to say is money making for the sharife family

  2. Why not spend the same money on education or health care or food programmes. Our priorites are all messed up. Shahbaz Sharif has done good for Punjab after waking up from a 20 year slumber but money needs to be spent on education and developing under privileged communities.

  3. There is serious potential of rope transportation other than for tourist in Lahore, I propose that there must be arrangement to transport patients to hospitals to avoid rush hours and traffic jam. Similarly it could be used to meet the emergency requirement.
