QUETTA: DSP Police Line Umar Rehman, who was seriously wounded in the other day’s gunfire attack along with his nephew on Jail Road area of Quetta, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday (today).
According to police sources, some unknown armed men had reportedly opened fire at them near Huddah area of Quetta on Monday evening.DSP Police Line Umar Rehman was accompanied by his nephew Sub-Inspector Police Station Bijili Road Bilal-ur-Rehman. The accused fled the scene following the gunfire attack.
As a result, they had both received serious wounds and were rushed to Civil Hospital for medical assistance.
The deceased was the brother of DSP Shams-ur-Rehman who was martyred in a blast at Police Line.
Following the gun attack, security forces cordoned off the area and launched an operation to arrest the suspects.
