The City School Central Region organised an Inter-School Choir Competition to commemorate Pakistan Day at the Alhamra Arts Council on Saturday.
The title of the competition was Choir La Concours. Eight teams participated in the competition after winning their places in the quarterfinals, which took place earlier between 47 city schools located across Punjab. Four teams were chosen by a panel of judges consisting of Xulfi of Call, Nayab Ali Khan and Saleem Bazmi, senior music producer Radio Pakistan. The four teams chosen for the finals were Ravi, Shalimar, Model Town and KAPCO. These teams battled for the top slot in front of a panel of judges including Ustad Hamid Ali Khan, Fawad Khan of EP and Saira Arshad.
Event Organiser Michelle Ameer told Pakistan Today that the event was more successful than her expectations and students from dozens of City School campuses all over Punjab made their mark during the event. The show was hosted by RJ Sumerah. The audience was enthralled by the music and singing skills displayed. The winner trophy went to the Ravi campus while the runner-up prize went to Shalimar Campus.
