Rs 15.667 billion allocated for Ministry of Interior for financial year 2017-18

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has earmarked Rs 15666.938 million for Ministry of Interior for 61 ongoing and new schemes for the financial year 2017-18.

According to the Public Sector Development Programme, the government has allocated Rs 15326.938 million from its own resources while Rs 340 million is foreign assistance.

Rs 10675.162 have been allocated for 38 ongoing schemes while Rs 4991.776 million have been earmarked for 23 new programmes.

In the ongoing schemes head, Rs 1800 million have been earmarked for provision of CPEC-related security projects, Rs 1000 million have been kept for provision of security infrastructure in Malakand, Swat and other conflict areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rs 800 million have been allocated for construction of Model Prison at  Islamabad, Rs 650 million have been kept for capacity enhancement of Frontier Corps Balochistan by raising eight new wings, while Rs 618.220 million have been dedicated for construction of accommodation for two Rifle Wings at Karachi, Rs 750 million have been kept for construction of accommodation of Abdullah Shah Ghazi Rangers, Karachi, Water Distribution Network for RCB/CCB based on Khanpur Dam Water Source.

Among the new schemes, Rs 700 million have been earmarked for construction of accommodation for four wings at Chamanjana, Sama Bazaar at Aurakzai Agency and at Kurram Agency. Rs 550 million have been allocated for capacity enhancement of CAF – management of western borders by raising seven additional wings for Frontier Corps Balochistan while Rs 500 million have been allocated for CAF – management of western borders by raising of HQ Frontier Corps Balochistan.
