CM constitutes committee to investigate chickenpox spread

The Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has constituted a technical committee to investigate the spread of chickenpox in Faisalabad and other districts of Punjab. The committee shall examine the causes of the emergence of chickenpox in children and adults.

Former King Edward Medical University VC Prof Faisal Masood has been appointed as the convener of the committee, whereas, Special Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Dr Sajid Mahmood Chohan has been appointed to the committee as secretary. Similarly, Special Primary and Secondary Secretary Dr Faisal Zahoor and CEO Contech Dr Naeem ud Din Mian have also been made members of the Committee.

The Committee shall inquire into the reasons for the spread of chickenpox in Faisalabad and a few other districts. It shall identify the implementation gaps and also fix responsibility for negligence on the responsible individuals. The Committee will furnish its recommendations to prevent the re-emergence of chicken pox in the province. The committee will submit its report to the chief minister within 10 days.
