PITB’s eLearn.Punjab INKS MoU With PAF’s FTTI

The Punjab Information Technology Board’s (PITB) project eLearn.Punjab signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Pakistan Airforce’s (PAF) Fazaia Teachers’ Training Institute (FTTI) for a period of three years to develop Computer-Based Lessons (CBLs) for SSC and HSSC which may be delivered via a multimedia projector. The MoU was signed by Chairman PITB, Dr Umar Saif and Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Education) Pakistan Air Force Air Commodore Asif Shehzad.

According to the provisions of the MoU, FTTI will collaborate with eLearn.Punjab for the digitalisation of the syllabus for further refinement and utilisation. FTTI may share the question bank prepared for Fazaia students (HSSC classes) to help them prepare for their entrance test to seek admission in the professional colleges. FTTI will ensure availability of its faculty for the Master Training by e.Learn.Punjab. FTTI will also provide, on request, under the faculty exchange programme, its trained faculty for teacher training for eLearn.Punjab project. FTTI will acknowledge eLearn.Punjab as “Content Sharing Partner”.

eLearn.Punjab will provide a soft copy of all the digitised textbooks and the relevant visuals, audios, animations, simulations etc. eLearn.Punjab will make arrangements for the provision of the offline version of the interactive books with resources. eLearn.Punjab will also train the faculty of FTTI in the relevant domains along with providing FTTI with hardware (e-gadgets) and initial and recurring technical support to establish a centre of excellence for at least 25 ‘eteachers’.

eLearn.Punjab will grant and transfer the copyrights of the e-resources to FTTI. It will acknowledge FTTI as a “Content Sharing Partner”. eLearn.Punjab will include one or two Fazaia Schools and Colleges in the sample group to pilot their projects related to eLearn.Punjab

eLearn.Punjab is the approved development project of the government of the Punjab. School education department is sponsoring the project and PITB is the executing organisation of this project. The Project aims at developing an official repository of digitised textbooks for K-12 augmented with videos, animations and simulations.
