The University of Karachi (KU)’s entrance test for the MS/PhD/MPhil programmes will be conducted tomorrow (Sunday), the university’s spokesperson announced on Friday. The spokesperson said that 3,392 candidates have applied for total seats of 430 in these programmes. A meeting of the admission committee, chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, was held to discuss and finalise the arrangements for the entrance test.
Pro Vice Chancellor and Convener of the Postgraduate Admission Committee, Prof Dr Shahana Kazmi, along with Board of Advanced Study and Research officials, visited different departments of the university to review the arrangements.
The list of students, who clear the test, will be displayed on the university’s website and the departmental notice board on May 10. The Departmental Research Committees’ interview of the successful candidates will be held from May 16 to 20 in the respective departments/centres/institutes. The final list of successful candidates will be displayed on the website and the departmental notice board on May 30. Classes will commence from July 15 at the respective departments and faculties.
ANNUAL EXAM RESULTS: The KU has announced the result of BEd (Evening Programme) First and Second Annual Examinations 2010. According to statistics, 187 candidates appeared in the first year, out of which 114 were declared successful with a pass percentage of 60.96. In the second year exams, 207 candidates appeared and the pass percentage was 61.84. The university also announced that marks certificates are being issued to the successful candidates.
