Quetta: A strike was observed the other day here after 27 people died and several inured in a suicide attack on the convoy of Senate Deputy Chairman and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri in Mastung on Friday.
All markets and trade centres remained closed in the city and lesser than usual traffic was observed. However, some shos on the outskirts of the city remained open.
Workers and supporters of JUI-F held a demonstration in Quetta. They marched on main roads and later assembled at the Meezan Chowk for the party leaders to address.
Maulana Mohammad Torabi and Advocate Malik Sikander addressed the gathering and said that the party would continue with its ideology and would continue to protect the country and people of Baluchistan.
Maulana Haideri sent a video message from the Combined Military Hospital Quetta wherein he said that the party’s would continue to fight for the glory of Islam and Pakistan.
The party announced a strike in other areas of Baluchistan on Sunday.
