Lahore Development Authority has suspended two assistant directors Rameen Choudhary and Roye Shajar Abbas and begun an inquiry against them for alleged embezzlement in diesel quota allocated for LDA vehicles. The relevant record of enforcement directorate vehicles has been sealed forthwith. LDA Director Administration Shahid Fareed summoned the drivers of enforcement directorate to record their statements on Thursday. But their versions could not be recorded despite the passing of two days. They were called again on Saturday (today) for the purpose.
LDA Director General Abdul Jabbar Shaheen took action after receiving complaints against the ADs alleging their involvement in the sale of diesel and ordered a probe against them. The suspended assistant directors’ names also came in headlines a few days ago in a case of demolishing some constructions in Johar Town on alleged non payment of bribe money to LDA officials. Affected citizens had also protested against the move but their complaints were pushed aside by LDA.
