Anti-polio drive in Tharparkar from May 15

MITHI: A four-day anti-polio drive in district Tharparkar would start on May 15.

Tharpakar Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Zaman Narejo on Tuesday presided over a meeting at his office to review arrangements of the campaign.

The meeting was attended by District Health Officer Dr Shafiq-ur-Rehman, Social Welfare Deputy Director Natho Khan, Civil Hospital Civil Surgeon Mithi Iqbal Ahmed Bhurgri, Dr Bansi Dar, Dr Bharat Kumar, Municipal Officer Malook Khaskeli, Information Officer Tharparkar Ghous Muhammad Pathan, WHO representative Dr Rajesh and other concerned officers, including the assistant commissioners and Mukhtiarkars.

The DC was informed that 735 teams would be participating in the campaign in which over 213,521 children below the age of five years would be administered anti-polio drops.

Muhammad Zaman Narejo directed the assistant commissioners to hold meetings on a daily basis in their concerned talukas.
