Pakistan desires to improve relations with Afghanistan: Zafar

Leader of the House in Senate Raja Zafar-ul-Haq on Monday said Pakistan’s institutions and the government desire to improve relations with Afghanistan and for this, efforts were being made to achieve the objectives.

Talking to PTV, he said stable, progressing and prosperous Pakistan would have positive impact on the neighboring countries. A high level delegation from Pakistan under the leadership of Speaker Ayaz Sadiq had met the leadership of Afghanistan and both the countries expressed the desire to further improve the relations, he said.

Expressing his concerns, he said there was a third power involved in creating rift between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Terrorist elements had been using the soil of Afghanistan for terrorist activities in Pakistan, he said.

Recalling the recent meeting with Afghan officials, he said both the sides had expressed the desire that the relations between the two neighbouring countries should be improved in a proper manner.

While, Minister for Housing and Works Akram Khan Durrani Monday said India was involved in disrupting peace process between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Talking to PTV, he said India was also carrying out anti-state activities in Balochistan and its evidences were also available. The minister said India could not see Pakistan’s peaceful relations with neighbouring countries. It was also working to sabotage China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project, he added.

He said Pakistan enjoyed brotherly relations with Afghanistan and peace in two countries was interlinked. He urged the need to enhance cooperation between the two countries to resolve the issues through dialogue. Pakistani delegation which visited Afghanistan was warmly welcomed and held long meetings with Afghan leadership, he added. He said Afghan leadership had also assured to enhance cooperation to resolve issues and strengthen relations.
