SHC orders formation of JIT for recovery of missing close aides of Zardari

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court ordered that a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) be formed to probe into the matter of missing close aides of former President Asif Zardari. The Team would also be responsible for the recovery of these close associates of the former president.

The SHC took up for hearing a petition seeking recovery of missing close aides of former President Asif Zardari on Thursday. The missing close associates of Zardari include Ghulam Qadir Mari, Khan Muhammad Mangi, Sajjad Arain and driver Mehboob Khas Kheli.

During the course of hearing, the court was informed, that despite the court’s orders, whereabouts of Ghulam Qadir Mari could not be ascertained. The court was requested to seek a progress report on the matter.

Investigation officer in the case informed the court that a letter has already been written to the Interior Ministry for set up of JIT.

The court while ordering SSP Jam Shoroo to appear before it with a progress report on this matter adjourned the hearing till May 18.

It is pertinent to mention here that Ghulam Qadir along with his three other associates went missing on April 8 near Jamshoro and petition was filed in SHC in connection with their recovery.
