NAUNDERO: Hundreds of primary school teachers under the banner of All Sindh Primary Teachers Association took a rally here on Sunday against Education Minister Jam Mehtab Dahar. The rally concluded at Bhutto’s mausoleum.
The participants were led by their central leaders – Intezar Chilgri, Ghulam Rasul Mahar, Sikandar Jatoi, Liaquat Deedar, Sadaruddin Umrani, and Mumtaz Wadho.
The teachers’ leaders, while addressing the participants, said that the Sindh Education Department, on the directions of Education Minister Jam Mehtab Dahar, had transferred or suspended many of their colleagues without any justification.
They said that monthly salaries had also been halted which was in violation of an apex court’s orders. They announced that if their demands are not accepted forthwith then they will stage huge sit-ins on May 7 in Nawabshah, May 15 in Hyderabad, and on May 19 in Karachi outside the Chief Minister House, to press the rulers to accept their just demands.
