Faulty CT SCAN machine in Rawalpindi DHQ hospital multiplying miseries of patients

Due to defective CT SCAN machine in the district headquarters hospital Rawalpindi for the past several weeks, the lives of patients have been put at stake.

According to the media reports, due to the dysfunctional CT SCAN machine, patients have no option other than to undergo CT SCAN tests by paying thousands of rupees fees to the private laboratories.

Dozens of patients come to the hospital for treatment on daily basis. Among them, some need CT scan test but due to the defective machine, they suffer a lot.

Earlier 40 to 45 patients were provided the facility of CT SCAN daily but now, the administration is mum over the matter of repairing CT SCAN machine and patients are being referred to other private allied hospitals for medical tests and CT SCAN tests. Family members of patients are forced to bear the expenditures of four to eight thousands rupees.

Hospital administration in this regard said that 3 year contract period for the repairing of machine had expired. A new tender was floated on April 22 and now, a new company will be able to repair the machine.
