BADIN: The joint investigation team’s (JIT) report might create difficulties for the Sharif family but people didn’t benefit from the Panamagate verdict.
These views were expressed by former Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, during his visit to Ayaz Hussain Jamali’s house, on Thursday.
Ayaz Hussain Jamali, an employee of DAR Petroleum Operating Company, was kidnapped by the rebels after they ambushed a vehicle carrying him in South Sudan’s capital city of Juba and returned home on April 2, 2017.
Dr Mirza said that more than 80pc of the politicians were joining the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) due to political pressure and to get lucrative jobs will change their loyalties as soon as political situation changes, he added.
He, while criticising the current government, said that water being released in Sindh’s canals was being stolen by sitting rulers and their cronies.
The Grand Democratic Alliance has been getting momentum, Dr Mirza said and added that he does not intend to join any political party despite several invitation offers from the PTI, PML-N and Jamaat-e- Islami.
Responding to the question about Rahu joining the PPP, he said that Rahu has never been loyal to any political party he has ever joined.
“My family can never be pressurised enough to join any political party because we stand with the people of Badin,” Mirza said.
He said that he was not the only person opposing corrupt practices of the rulers but people of Sindh also wanted the elimination of corrupt and terrorist elements from the country.
Dr Mirza urged the people to participate in the ongoing census process.
