The Election Commission of Pakistan has disqualified Rawalpindi Mayor Sardar Naseem for unfairly influencing election on reserved seats.
Women general councilors Ahira Tanveer and Lubna Iqbal had filed a petition against the mayor under Punjab Local Government Act, Section 19 and Public Representative Act Section 103-AA.
Five-member bench, presided over by Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Raza Khan had reserved judgment on previous hearing following the completion of arguments by the counsels of both sides.
