Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that his party stands with the Supreme Court and Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, as all other state institutions have been ‘annihilated.’

“To my view, all the institutions except judiciary have been devastated. We stand with the apex court and the chief justice. I am grateful to the Supreme Court that it has exposed corrupt leaders before the nation,” he said told media on Monday on his arrival at the court in connection with hearing of encroachment and land mafia case.

“The Supreme Court itself has accepted that NAB has completely failed in playing its role and now we will file a reference against the (NAB) chairman within two or three days,” he said. He said that he does not intend to file review petition against the court decision in the Panama Papers case.

He said that the whole nation has pinned hopes on judiciary. Had the court not interfered in the matter of corruption then nothing would have been left more, he said. He also said that it was the part of country’s history that five judges of the apex court heard the high-profile political case.

He believed that the court declared the PML-N leader corrupt, but even then the ruling party was celebrating the decision. “I am happy to see that Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has taken suo motto notice of illegal constructions in the Bani Gala,” he said, and pointing out that the encroachments, China cutting, deforestation and construction of plazas and flats on children parks is continuing at large scale since long.

The Capital development Authority (CDA) and the district administration were shifting responsibility on each other’s shoulders while it was a crime to construct a housing scheme on the agricultural land, he said, adding that this was actually the matter of food and security. In addition, he added that the contaminated water contributes to high-level of deaths in Pakistan.
