- Abbasi demands mandatory dope test for politicians in next general elections
The Pakistan Muslim League-N on Sunday requested the superior judiciary to accept petition against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan for his involvement in financial corruption and fixed it for day-by-day hearing.
Addressing a press conference, former federal minister and PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi questioned if the PTI chairman was not a king of corruption then how did he built a 350 kanal palace at Bani Gala. “Imran should tell the people about his assets and funds which he had taken in the name of charity,” he said.
He said that his party always respected judiciary and also accepted its decisions on the Panama Papers case with open heart. He said that the name of Prime Minister Muhammed Nawaz Sharif was not mentioned in the Panama Papers. He observed that Imran Khan was a liar and corrupt person.
The PML-N leader said that the PTI chairman was the opponent of development and peace. He (PTI chief) wanted to sabotage the prosperity of the country, he said, and advised the PTI chief to leave the mantra of the resignation of the prime minister and focused on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s development where his party was ruling.
In the next general elections, dope test for politicians should be mandatory, he also demanded. Responding to a statement by Pakistan People’s Party leader Moula Bukhsh Chandio over Ayyan Ali who was caught at Islamabad’s airport, Abbasi said that his party had nothing to do with the supermodel. MNA Malik Ibrar, Shakeel Awan and other party leaders were also present on the occasion.
Spirit of CoD: As the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) along with other opposition parties is stepping up its pressure on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to resign in the wake of Panama Papers verdict, the Pakistan Muslim League-N has termed the attitude against the spirit of the Charter of Democracy (CoD).
“The People’s Party does have the right to difference of opinion but the opposition just for the sake of opposition is making the party to follow the illusion of again reaching power corridors by hook or by crook,” said PML-N media coordinator Muhammad Mehdi while talking to newsmen here on Sunday in response to PPP’s calls for resignation of the prime minister.
“Such tactics lead to self-imposed exile,” he warned, in a reference to Benazir Bhutto and Asif Zardari’s periods of exile. He counseled the PPP not to violate the CoD, claiming that the PML-N had always been abiding by it. Allowing the PPP-led government in Gilgit-Baltistan to complete its term, it was an evidence of this commitment with the CoD, he added.
The CoD had been signed by the late PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif back in 2006 promising that none of the party would work to destabilise democracy. Mehdi cautioned that the PPP should be careful about such leaders who just for the sake of their single seat were making the party to inch towards the PTI which, he alleged, was out to derail democratic system.
“The PTI is wishing to assume power through back door even if it has to support any dictator,” he said without elaborating.
Abbasi should be tested for dope, he is the biggest drug dealer in Pakistan. Pmln can say whatever they want but we know Imran is not choor like Nawaz and shahbaz sharif.

Habitual and hardened crooks trying to taint an honest and sincere man, it won’t wash, any sane person will laugh at such desperate, comical and childish act of mendacity.
