- Zakaria says Pakistan to continue unflinching moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiri people
Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria on Thursday pointed out that the leaked videos, showing use of human shield, beating and humiliating Kashmiri people by the Indian forces, is a clear manifestation of human rights violation in the Indian-held Kashmir (IHK).
In his weekly media briefing here at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he said that hundreds of defenseless civilians and innocent young men and children were being mercilessly killed and deliberately targeted by the Indian forces in the disputed state.
He said that the brute armed operation against the educational institutions and students could not suppress the national movement for right to self-determination. He said that the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has shown its full support to Kashmiri people.
However, he said that the OIC fact-finding commission was denied access to the Indian-held Kashmir. He said that the social media was being banned to ensure that reports of crimes against humanity committed by the Indian forces do not go out of the disputed state.
Zakaria said that Indian brutalities, murder and blinding could not deter Kashmiri pro-freedom struggle and spirit. “We remain committed to extending our unflinching moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people,” he added.
Referring to the article published recently in The Guardian newspaper, he said that the article calls upon the international community to stop the systematic brutality being committed by Indian forces in the disputed state. He said that the genocide of Kashmiris should be brought to a halt.
The spokesperson said that the will of the Kashmiri people was clearly visible in their outright rejection of sham elections there. Replying to a question, the spokesperson said that the Indian reaction to be seen at the backdrop of the state involvement in terrorist activities in Pakistan.
He also said that the entire world including the United States has recognised the contribution of Pakistan in terms of economic and human loss against the fight of terrorism. “The international community has been satisfied with the efforts and achievement of Pakistan against terrorism,” he said.
