MARDAN: Murder case of Mashal Khan, the slain student of Mardan’s Abdul Wali Khan University, has begun to unfold as prime accused Wajahat Khan confessed.

According to details, Wajahat Khan recorded his statement that he had conflicts with ideologies of Mashal Khan and they often indulged in arguments with each other. He further told that Abdullah and Zubair also shared the ideas of Mashal Khan.

The suspect revealed that university administration enraged people by giving statements against Mashal Khan in chairman’s office. On the day of the incident, he was summoned to chairman’s office by Mudassir Bashir where lecturer Zia Ullah Hamdard, Peer Asfandyar, Anees, superintendent Arshad, clerk Saeed, Idrees and twenty others were present.

Wajahat told that Mudassir Bashir announced to become the witness of Mashal Khan’s blasphemous comments. Clerk Idrees responded that we do not need a communist in this university. Security in charge Bilal Bakhsh threatened to take action against the supporters of Mashal, and said he will kill Mashal Khan, added Wajahat.

After listening to the security in charge, all people got infuriated and everybody in the office started moving towards the hostel where they beat Abdullah first, and then killed Mashal Khan after brutal torture, told Wajahat.

Wajahat Khan said that university administration is responsible for Mashal’s murder, adding that the management should have informed police instead of taking action itself.
