Nine e-khidmat centres become operational

Nine e-khidmat centres have become operational in different districts of the province where 452,000 people have been provided services so far.

This was stated by Advisor to Punjab’s Chief Minister and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Chairman of the Dr Umar Saif here on Saturday.

In an exclusive talk with the APP, he said that that the services of 17 government departments were available at these centres under one roof.

He said that E-Khidmat Centres would be established in all districts and tehsils of Punjab soon.

He said that the PITB projects had brought about a revolution of good governance in Punjab through technology and smartphone applications. It has not only increased revenue and strengthened the economy but also reduced chances of tax evasion, Saif said.

Dr Saif further said that PITB projects were being acknowledged at international level as the PITB, after automation of the country’s Hajj operations, was now developing the Hajj operations of Nigeria at their request, while eVacca, police and other sectors’ replicas were being extended to other Pakistan’s provinces.
