Larkana commissioner reviews arrangements for anti-polio campaign

LARKANA: Larkana Divison Commissioner Abbas Baloch on Saturday presided over a meeting of Divisional Polio Task Force to review and discuss in detail the arrangements for the 4-day anti-polio campaign scheduled to start from April 17.

The meeting was largely attended among the others by deputy commissioners of Larkana, Kamber-Shahdadkot, Shikarpur, Jacob Abad and Kandhkot-Kashmore, additional commissioner-I Larkana division, and representative of the WHO, UNICEF and a large number of officials of the Health Department.

The commissioner directed all the deputy commissioners and the health officers of the division that all out efforts should be made to administer oral polio drops to 1-5 Year age children in the anti- polio campaign as it is in the national interest.

He also directed the health officers to re-strengthen their strategies and to focus on routine immunisation.

He also urged upon them that monitoring system might be ensured besides, the district and taluka control rooms might also be activated in order to make the drive a success.

Abbas Baloch warned that action would be taken against the negligent officers.

He directed the deputy commissioners, and the district health officers to ensure monitoring the campaign in their respective districts.

He also emphasised that officers should visit each and every union council and arranged meetings with the locals to ensure their participation in this campaign.

The commissioner said collective efforts were required for the success of the anti-polio campaign, adding that all the line departments must also cooperate with the Health department.
