A heavy contingent of police has been deployed outside different churches in the city in connection with Easter.
Presiding over a meeting here on Thursday, DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf said that foolproof security arrangements had been made to give the Christian community a sense of security while celebrating the religious festival. He also met representatives of the Christian community and assured them security, saying, “We are always at your service for consultation regarding security matters.”
Kamran Laskov, representatives of the Christian community, including Manzoor Chohan, Afzal Khursheed, Zia Azmat Shaukat and his wife were present along with others.
He said besides policemen, tiger and mobile squads would also be on patrol duty. He said duty officials would be provided with metal detectors.
