The Capital Development Authority on Thursday took notice of the allotment letters issued by the land directorate of Capital Development Authority (CDA) to the affectees amid political influence, and the authority also termed them ‘fake’.
“I have directed the director security Faheem Badshah to investigate the matter and report it in 3 working days, there was no record of such allotments were found in initial inquiry, however, we may sought help from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) if desired,” said CDA Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz.
Some venal officers of land directorate allegedly on the directions of some powerful politicians had issued 26 allotment letters worth millions of rupees to affectees in back dates of August 16 last year, despite there was a ban on the allotments of compensated plots to the affectees of Islamabad following the massive corruption being reported in the process of allotment of land on May 10 last year.
Around 26 plots were allotted to various affectees included 10 in Sector I-10, 11 in I-11 and 5 in G-11. Sources said that the incumbent director land Irfanullah was an officer of BS-18 of Foreign Service, served as the staff officer to Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, and these allotments were made on the pressure of state minister.
However, on the other hand, both Mayor Sheikh Anser Aziz and Minister for CADD Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary took notice on the matter and sought a detailed report from the directorate.
Sources said that the plot numbers were given and then the directorate created plots and allotted it to affectees having political influences. CDA chief told Pakistan Today that he was surprised that how this irregularity has done adding that, “I have ordered an inquiry into the matter and the officer, officials found guilty would be punished,” he said. While on the other hand, State Minister for CADD Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary has also sought a detailed report of this irregularity from the civic agency.
