KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has decided to arrange extra funds to complete 41 important schemes by December 31 and to give priority to buildings constructions, completion and face uplifting in the next budget.
This, he said while presiding over a meeting on next budget, particularly, to evolve a strategy for completion of most important schemes in Karachi at the CM House on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by Works and Services Minister Imdad Pitafi, Planning and Development Chairman M Waseem, Principal Secretary to CM Naveed Kamran Baloch, Finance Secretary Hassan Naqvi, Works Secretary Aijaz Memon, and other concerned officers of Planning and Development and Finance departments.
M Waseem told the chief minister that in Sukkur, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas divisions 218 schemes of road sector are in progress.
On this, the Sindh CM directed him to identify most important schemes for additional funds so that they could be completed by December 31.
The schemes identified included Rs100 million widening/reconstruction of 69.58 km Hala Shahdadpur-Sanghar road, reconstruction of 41.25 km road worth Rs1 billion from Mirpurkhas-Tando Adam, the widening/reconstruction of Rs 1.5 billion road from Karachi-Thatta-Jhimpir-Hyderabad.
Reconditioning of Rs 40 million road from Yousif Dahri Mori regulator to Bandhi via Manhoro, widening of Rs 100 million road from Saeedabad to Shaheed Benazirabad road, including bridge over Rohri Canal, Rs 40 million reconstruction of road Ghora Bari to Gharo, Rs 1,100 million improvement of road from Mataro Kario Ganhwar to Kharwah Road, improvement of Rs 30 million road from Mehar to Dokri.
Improvement of Rs 100 million road from Kambar Ghebidero, widening of road from Larkana to Miro khan, reconstruction of road from Moro Manahoon Mithani to Naushehroferoze, widening of road from Jati to Khurwah, widening and rehabilitation of Tando Allahyar – Tando Adam road.
Reconstruction of road from Deh 170 to Tando Jan Mohammad District Mirpurkhas, improvement of road from Tando Mohammad Khan to Mula Katiar road, improvement of road from Matiari to Allahdino Sand (Mirpur Khas).
Reconstruction of road from Samaro to Jhudo, reconstruction of road from Rukk to Lakhi, reconstruction of road from Palijani Station to Tando Jam via Shahpur, widening of road from Sakrand to Sarhari (SBA), widening of road from Jhudo Nabisar Road (Mirpurkhas) and various others.
There are some bridges, by-passes such as flyover at Nooriabad-Jhimpir over railway crossing, construction of flyover at Birani Railway Phatak at Tando Adam, construction of flyover on railway southern side at Subzi Mandi (SBA), construction overhead bridge at railway crossing Tando Adam, flyover at Shahdadpur over Jatia Railway Phatak, flyoverover on railway line between Kotri city and Industrial area Kotri.
The other bridges are, pre-stress RCC Bridge on Shaheed Benazir Bhutto to Kazi Ahmed on Rohri Canal and a bridge between Mithi to Chalhar.
The Sindh CM also directed the Planning and Development chairman to prepare a scheme for the uplift of the important government building and in district headquarters.
