- PTI chief criticises removal of AD Khawaja as Sindh police chief
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday exhorted the nation to rise against corruption, adding the Pakistani nation has understood that corruption is the real problem of the country.
Addressing a party rally in Talagang, Khan said Panamgate was a case of corruption as well as money laundering and unless the country was purged of corruption, “we have no future”.
Criticising the Sindh government for removal of AD Khawaja as the Sindh Police chief, Khan said he was sent packing because he had refused to facilitate corruption.
Addressing a party rally in Talagang, the PTI chief said he was dismayed with the fact that AD Khawaja was relieved as the IG Sindh not because he was involved in illegal activities, but because he was stopping others from illegal activities.
Firing a salvo at the Pakistan People’s Party, Khan said that Sharjeel Memon had a Rs5 billion corruption case against him and Dr Asim Hussain a Rs460 billion corruption case and these two combined exceeded the total development budget of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which was Rs113 billion.
Khan also advised PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari to get his matters sorted before the next general elections because after that the PTI would definitely question from where he got the $7 million stashed in Switzerland.
He went on to advise Zardari to “acquire the services of a Qatari prince as well,” referring to the Qatari letter that the Sharif family presented before the Supreme Court in the Panamagate case.
The PTI chairman also claimed he had overcome corruption in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and that this had resulted in increased foreign investment in the province.
