Karachi Kings win SSB Pakistan Day Women’s Softball Festival title

KARACHI: Karachi Kings annexed the Sindh Sports Board (SSB) Pakistan Day Women’s Softball Festival title by defeating Karachi Dolphins by two runs.

The organisers said on Saturday that the event was organised by the Sindh Softball Association (SSA) in collaboration with the SSB.

The Karachi Kings scored 16 runs in the five innings whereas the Karachi Dolphins could make 14 runs.

SSA Director Imran Zaman was the chief guest on the occasion.

He lauded the talent and performance of the Pakistani women players and said that they are second to none.

He called for providing them with the required infrastructure as well as an appropriate platform so that they could perform at the international level also.

Imran also praised the holding of such events and said that this could help in bringing to forth the new talent.

He also appreciated the efforts of head coach Faraz Ejaz, Zulfiqar Ahmed, Kamran Munir and others.

Later, the chief guest distributed trophies, shields and certificates among the players and the officials.
