Development schemes worth Rs 24bn approved

The provincial development working party on Friday approved seven development schemes worth an estimated Rs 24.817 billion.

These schemes were approved in the 64th meeting of the provincial development working party (PDWP) for the current fiscal year presided over by the Punjab Planning and Development Chairman Jahanzeb Khan.

The approved development schemes include the Punjab Health Survey Round II, 2017, the construction of a bridge over River Jhelum at Langarwala Pattan to Sahiwal in Sargodha and Khushab district, the dualization of the Khanewal Lodhran Road, district Khanewal, the dualization of the Khanewal Lodhran Road, district Vehari, the dualization of the Khanewal Lodhran Road, district Lodhran, the construction of a flyover on Khanewal Lodhran Road at Chowk  Matila, district Vehari, and the construction of an interchange on Khanewal Lodhran Road, district Khanewal.

Provincial Planning and Development Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, all members of the planning and development board, provincial secretaries, and other representatives of relevant departments also attended the meeting.
