‘53 water supply and drainage schemes to be completed by June’

Fifty three water supply and drainage schemes would be completed in various districts of the province by June at a cost of Rs 1.21 billion, Sindh Public Health Engineering Minister Muhammad Adil Siddiqui said on Monday. He was chairing a meeting of the officers of his department. The minister said that 26 of these schemes deal with water supply and the rest are drainage projects. “The government is aware of the problems pertaining to water supply and sewerage in the far-flung areas of the province,” he said. Siddiqui pointed out that all available resources are being utilised for making available clean drinking water and 26 water supply schemes would be completed at a cost of Rs 904.48 million. He also directed that the pace of work of the ongoing development schemes should be expedited.
