‘Pakistan eager for students’ exchange programme with Belarus universities’

Establishment of Belarusian Language Chair in National University of Modern Languages (NUML) will help promoting bilateral ties between Belarus and Pakistan and bring the two nations close through the languages, culture and understanding.

It was stated by Ambassador of Belarus Andrei Ermolovich along with First Secretary Kirill Deryabin on Thursday in a meeting with NUML Director General Brig Riaz Ahmed Gondal here at NUML, a press release said here on Thursday.

Registrar Brig (retd) Aminullah Khan, Dr Asma and staff of Belarus Language & Culture Chair at NUML also attended the meeting. The NUML DG briefing the guests said that the university was the only institution of the country offering courses in 26 national and international languages.

NUML, he said, has seven regional campuses across Pakistan, besides one international campus at China. He said that besides languages, NUML had four other faculties which were Social Sciences, Engineering & Computer Sciences, Managements Sciences and Faculty of English Studies.

Riaz Ahmed Gondal said that NUML had more than 14,000 students and was keen to collaborate with Belarussian counterparts to enhance research culture in Pakistan and also eager to start students’ exchange program with Belarus universities.

Speaking on the occasion the ambassador of Belarus said that NUML had the specialty in languages and Belarus could avail this opportunity. He said that establishment of Belarusian Language Chair in NUML would help in promoting bilateral ties between Belarus and Pakistan by bringing the two nations together through the language, culture and understanding.

He said that both the countries were developing close relations at a very fast track and the field of education would bring the youth and scholars together to work for progress of their countries.
