In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyet forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has condemned the continued house detention of its chairman, terming it frustration of the puppet authorities.

According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS), the forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the Mirwaiz was prevented from offering Juma prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid for the third consecutive Friday. He said that the way puppet authorities were imposing curbs on the political and religious activities of the Mirwaiz and placing other resistance leaders under house arrest or behind bars reflected the worst dictatorial policies of the puppet regime.

The spokesman said that the present regime by conducting the upcoming sham Indian Parliamentary elections at the dint of military might and coercion wanted to show the world that everything was normal in occupied Kashmir. However, in reality, Kashmir has actually been turned into a police state where all basic freedoms of the people had been snatched, he added.

Meanwhile, the spokesman, remembering the victims of 2003 Nadimarg massacre in which 22 Kashmiri Pandits were killed, said, “It is highly regrettable that till date the culprits of the massacre have not been nabbed and the relatives of the victims are still awaiting justice.”
