Around 1500 traffic wardens performed duties on Pakistan Day

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rai Ijaz Ahmed paid his gratitude to the citizens of Lahore over following the traffic rules and cooperating with the traffic wardens deputed on the roads on the eve of Pakistan Day.

“The citizens of Lahore proved themselves as responsible citizens by showing great discipline on the roads and all the traffic wardens were also instructed to cooperate with the motorists and to ensure the smooth flow of traffic,” he said. Additional force of traffic wardens were deputed on all the flag hoisting ceremonies held in the metropolitan and not a single incident of traffic gridlock was reported from the city, he added.

According to the details, more than 1500 traffic wardens were deputed in the city under the supervision of 3 superintendents of police (SPs), 12 deputy superintendents of police (DSPs), 34 inspectors and 190 patrolling officers on Pakistan Day. The City Traffic Police also established 3 Traffic Response Units in which 70 trained traffic wardens were standby and they were instructed to reach the place in case of traffic jam.
