The government is misappropriating tax money to post advertisements, alleged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson Imran Khan on Sunday.
The government has misused public funds for their own personal means. They have used around Rs 25-30 billion for their own means, he claimed during a press conference in Attock.
Khan also discussed the corruption charges against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar. “If the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) didn’t initiate an investigation against Qaiser, then who submitted the letter?” he asked.
Answering his own question he remarked that the letter was sent by “Motu King”, referring to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Asad Qaiser should investigate into the matter and approach the court, Khan said.
The NAB had initiated an inquiry against Qaisar over alleged corruption and misuse of powers. The bureau had asked Qaiser to share details of his five-kanal bungalow worth Rs350 million. In his response, Qaisar said that he had purchased land in Bani Gala in 2012 before his party came into power in KP.
Speaking on the Panama case, Khan said that the lies the Sharif family told in the court had come out in the open. First they claimed that Maryam Sharif’s name was not in the Panama case but eventually her name came up, he remarked.
However, he refused to comment when asked about the verdict of the Panama case.
Replying to Khan’s allegations, Minister of Information Marriyum Aurangzeb said that he Khan feels no remorse in needlessly blaming other people.
In response to the question Khan had raised, Aurangzeb said “The people of KP wrote the letter [against Qaiser].”
She further alleged that “PTI leaders start crying as soon as corruption charges are leveled against them.”
Instead of crying, Khan should answer the NAB regarding the corruption charges against him, she remarked.
