3 dead, 1 injured in Lahore firing incident

LAHORE: Three people were shot dead by unknown men on Saturday while one sustained severe wounds at Azadi Chowk in Lahore.

According to police officials, victims Ayub, Shakoor and Naeem were going to court for hearing when opposition party stopped them and opened fire over resistance.

Reportedly, Ayub and Shakoor lost their lives on the spot while Naeem was shifted to the hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to the injuries.

A passerby also received wounds in the mishap.

On getting information about the incident, police officers arrived at the scene and launched an investigation into the matter.

A recent spate of violence and targeted killings have hit the city.  Former Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPP-P) ticket holder Babar Sohail Butt was gunned down last week.
