IHC orders to include name of fake prophet in ECL

Islamabad High Court has shown resentment on the performance of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), ordering to put the name of a resident of Islamabad Nasir Sultan, who claimed to be a false prophet, on exit control list (ECL).

The bench comprising of Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui was hearing the case regarding the presence of blasphemous material on social media. The court also ordered to constitute a committee to review the material that is being run by television channels in their morning shows and talk shows. Justice Siddiqui also directed Advocate General to take help from the officers of ISI in the process of investigation.

He said that FIA has failed in doing its duty in a befitting manner.

The court said in its remarks that in the early days, the media imparted Islamic teachings but now it is showing vulgarity and obscenity. “The moral values of the younger generation are deteriorating under a pre-planned conspiracy,” the court said, adding, “The law of Norway cannot prevail in Pakistan.
