Aerial firing claims life of woman

Aerial firing at a Mehndi ceremony at Raja Colony Shahdara claimed the life of a 40-year-old woman. The victim identified as Safia Bibi happened to be the wife of SI Mohammad Ashraf, posted at Sandah police station. Police said that Safia was at the rooftop of her house when firing by some participants in jubilation at the said function caused two critical bullet wounds to her. She was rushed to a local hospital where she expired. Police arrested eight persons including bridegroom and sent the body to morgue for autopsy.
MURDER: A man was shot dead by some unidentified persons in his house in Manga Mandi on Sunday.
Police said that the victim identified as Mohammad Rafique was asleep when some unidentified persons entered his house and shot him to death. Police suspected that Rafique was killed over an old enmity. The deceased was survived by five children. The body was shifted to morgue.
SUICIDE: A 30 years old man committed suicide by taking poisonous pills in Shahdara Town on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Nadar of GT Road Shahdara. Police said that Nadar was disturbed over unknown domestic issues. On the day of incident, he took poisonous pills, as a result of which his condition went critical. He was taken to a local hospital where he died.
FIRE: Household items were reduced to ashes when fire broke out in a house in Ichhara on Sunday.
Cause of fire was ssaid to be short circuit. The house was owned by one Mohammad Hameed of Fazlia Colony. Yet in another incident, fire broke out in the house of one Mohammad Irfan of Scheme Morr Subzazar. Fire fighters rushed to the scenes and put the fire out after hectic efforts.
BODY FOUND: Bhatti Gate police Sunday recovered body of a 40 years old man from its limits. Police believed that the man, still to be identified, was an addict who died of natural causes. The body was shifted to morgue.
